Details have been announced of the Andrew Caddick benefit match, which is being played in Cornwall in July. The Twenty/20 game takes place at Truro Cricket Club on Wednesday 8th July with a Cornwall XI playing a Somerset XI at 5.30pm. Admission will be only £5 and details of advanced ticket sales will be announced shortly. Gates will open at 3pm. Andrew Caddick has confirmed that international players Marcus Trescothick and Justin Langer will play. This will be the first time Justin has been to Cornwall. The match sponsor is R P Homes. The match follows a three year agreement that has seen Somerset play an annual 20/20 game against Cornwall to primarily raise funds for youth cricket in the county.

Penzance 3rds have withdrawn from Division 7 West as their Humphry Davy School ground is undergoing major development.

Cornwall have prepared for their MCCA trophy game with Devon on Sunday with a warm up weekend in Jersey. Following Friday's training session they took on a Hertfordshire Development XI at Grainville on Saturday. Alex Smeeth took three for 24 and Dan Davis two for 21 as the Hertfordshire side were restricted to 177. Cornwall slipped to 81 for 5 but recovered to 116-5 when rain saw the game abandoned with 17 overs remaining. Chris Hunkin was on 29 not out and Alex Smeeth 14 not out.

On Sunday against Jersey Cornwall got off to a poor start losing Matt Rowe, Keith Parsons and David Roberts with only 16 on the board. The recovery came through Tom Sharp with 21, Gary Thomas with 37 and Chris Hunkin's 40. With the help of 36 extras Cornwall were bowled out for 165 in the 49th over. Dan Davis got rid of both Jersey openers after they had put on 40. With Parsons taking three wickets and two apiece for Rob Harrison and Mark George the home team were dismissed for 152.

Cornwall 165 (C Hunkin 40, G Thomas 37, T Sharp 21; P Blackburn 3-9),

Jersey 152 (J Gough 32, D Morrison 22; K Parsons 3-25, D Davis 2-18, M George 2-23, R Harrison 2-32).

Cornwall beat Jersey by 13 runs.

Troon 3rds have withdrawn from Division 7 West for the 2009 season. Revised fixtures Div 7 West

Troon CC Statement: "Due to a shortage of Senior Players the Club has had to take the unfortunate decision to withdraw the 3rd XI from division 7 West. While we have no shortage of young talent wanting to play, without a core of senior players willing to run the side we cannot proceed. Later in the season we know that more players will be available and the situation would improve, however it was decided that it would be unfair on the other Club's if we were to continually forfeit games. The Club is currently developing a second ground at Troon School which we hope will be ready to use next season. The Club is hoping to re-enter a 3rd XI next season".

Goldsithney have withdrawn from Division Three West of the Jolly’s Drinks Cornwall Cricket League with immediate effect. The League Management Committee has reluctantly accepted that due to player shortage they are unable to continue to field a team at that level. They will continue with one team playing in Divisions 6 West. Last season Goldsithney completed 50 seasons as a league club (1949-45 and from 1965 many of which were in the old Senior Division 2). Following the creation of a new rule in January having withdrawn a team Goldsithney will not be eligible for any promotions or prize monies for its lower team for the current season.
