Grampound Road bt Truro by 3 wkts and will host Plympton who beat Falmouth by 1 wicket

Cornwall Women v Somerset Women The South West Championship game has been confirmed for Sunday 17th August and will be played at Grampound Road C C. the game afgainst Dorset will be played at Redlands, Weymouth on Sun 31st august.Fixtures
Redruth's scheduled friendly with Troon on Easter Sunday has been called off with the visitors unable to raise a team. Redruth will now play Beacon instead. On Saturday Redruth entertain Falmouth.
Cornwall 'A' will play Cornwall 'B' at noon at Beacon Park in a 50 over per side game played under C & G rules. Team Manager Godfrey Furse is hopeful that at least 90% of the full squad will be available for the game. The C & G game this year has been brought forward by three weeks ans comes within ten days of the start of the league season, The warm up game will be an important build up to the tie against Kent and also the difficult MCCA Trophy game at Norfolk a week or so later on 18th May.
Munday & Shreck make First Class debuts Two Truro and Cornwall cricketers both made their first class debuts on the same day, last Saturday. Michael Munday played at the Parks for Oxford UCCE v Middlesex. He took two first innings wickets bowling opener Andrew Strauss and then having Owais Shah (who co-incidentally shares the same October birthday as Munday) caught and bowled. Meanwhile Charlie Shreck made his first class debut for Nottinghamshire in the game against Durham UCCE at Trent Bridge, where he took a second innings wicket. He previously played a Norwich Union game for Notts last September
On Friday night (11th) Newquay Cricket Club will be celebrating their Centenary with a Dinner Dance at the Bristol Hotel in Newquay. The guest of honour will be ex Warwickshire and England paceman Gladstone Small. It will be an evening to celebrate the past 100 years but also to look forward with new optimism now that the club is in the top flight and is to receive a £3.2m Sport England re-furbishment of the Sports Centre starting at the end of April.
Cornwall Cricket Yearbook 2003 Orders are now being taken for the Cornwall Cricket Yearbook 2003. 'Cricket in Cornwall' again provides a comprehensive review of the year from the County Club to Schools and Youth cricket. Additionally this year there are County Club Player Profiles and various articles including Anthony Penberthy's benefit year, the first class debuts of Neil Edwards and Carl Gazzard, the West Penwith League Centenary and Troon's first National Village triumph thirty years ago. It also includes a comprehensive fixtures guide, including First Class games and there are over forty photographs from the Cornish cricket year. Unfortunately, due to the recent uncertainty regarding the make-up of the ECB Cornwall Premier League, the publication date is not expected until around the start of the season - 26th April. Copies are priced at £5.50 (including p/p). Child Protection Club Officers Only 35% of clubs have registered a child protection officer with the Cornwall Youth Cricket League. All clubs were sent prior to the 2002 season child protection documents. Many clubs sent us the details of the Child Protection Officer as required. However a certain number of clubs have not done so to date if your club as not returned this information or your child protection officer has changed could you please supply details on the form below. Fowey CC to celebrate 30 years Fowey Cricket Club celebrate 30 years of playing this year with a celebratory cricket match at Fowey. The game will take place on Sunday 20 July when the current Fowey team will play a 'masters' side. Already former Fowey players, Phil Johns, Chris Bailey and Steve Bone will be taking the field. The day will start with a luncheon at the cricket club when local cricket author, Tim Heald, will be the club's guest of honour. Tim has written authorised biographies of Denis Compton and the broadcaster, the late, great, Brian Johnston. He is now involved in writing a book on village cricket. A 30-over cricket match to celebrate thirty years of cricket will follow. Former Fowey players have spread far and wide. One former member, John Hand, now lives in Australia. Cornish Choughs require fixtures The Cornish Choughs Cricket Club are looking for midweek friendly cricket matches with local teams. The Choughs are a nomadic club with no ground and would play all games away, but would contribute to costs etc. A manager would be elected to arrange team selection etc. New members and managers are also urgently required. County Under 15 Girls Trials & Fixtures Cornwall County Under 15 Girls Cricket Trials are being held at the Cricket Centre Of Excellence, Redruth Community School on Sunday 13th April between 3pm and 6pm and on Wednesday 23rd April between 6pm and 8pm. Any girls Year 10 and below are welcome to attend. Fees £1 per hour.
