County Club switch ECB 38 County Competition venue

Cornwall County Cricket Club have announced a change of venue for their ECB 38 County Cup Group game against the Somerset Board XI on Sunday 27th May. The game was originally scheduled for St. Just but has now been resheduled for Falmouth's Trescobeas ground. The 50 over per side match commences at 11am.

 

 

Yearbook Published

The Cornwall Cricket Yearbook has been published. Copies will shortly be available from local clubs or immediately from Cornwall League Secretary Michael Evans or from Yearbook Editor Michael Weeks by hand or by post .

 

 

 

League registration deadline nears

All Jolly's Drinks Cornwall League Club Secretaries are reminded that players registrations must with with the relevant Registration Secretary (Mike Evans - West or John Harbinson - East) by Saturday (21st April) for players to be qualified (7 days) for the opening day of the season on 28th April.

 

 

 

New Club Secretary at Barripper

Barripper who have teams in Divisions 3 and 6 West of the Jolly's Drinks Cornwall League have a new Secretary. Graham Ivey has taken over from Richard Rogers with Andrew Heather his Assistant (contact details on the clubs directory page).

 

 

 

Over 50's opening games cancelled

Cornwall Over 50's have had their opening three games cancelled. The fixture at Tintagel last weekend fell to the foot and mouth epidemic while this weekend's games at St. Ives and Gulval have been called off due to the grounds not being fit following the recent poor weather.

 

 

 

Michael Munday invited to spin masterclass

The Truro and Cornwall School's leg spin bowler Michael Munday, who started his career with Gulval, has been invited to a wrist spin masterclass with the former Australian Test spinner Terry Jenner, who is Shane Warne's coach. The class, one of a series across the country, is being held at Edgebaston, Birmingham on the May Bank Holiday Monday.

 

 

 

Two Cornish Boys on England Under 16/17 Coaching Course

Neil Edwards (Cornwall & Paul) and Michael Munday (Cornwall Under 17's & Truro) are spending their Easter at an England Under 16/17 coaching course at Lilleshaw. The pair were amongst 24 boys invited to attend the course being taken by former Leicestershire player Tim Boon.
