Division 2 East club Trevone have announced their immediate withdrawal from Division 2 East of the Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League. Club Statement At a meeting of the committee of TCC"88" last night,it was decided with deep regret that it was no longer viable for us to continue trying to side a team in the league. We have lost several members due to apathy and lack of interest in cricket, and are now reduced to the original older members whose cricketing days are nearly over. Our Captain ,Sid Morris who has done a tremendous job in trying to hold the team together is leaving the County to live elsewhere. I am retiring this year and there is no one to take our places. We have called an Emergency AGM for the 2nd September to see if there will be any interest from the younger members who are left to resurrect a team for next season. Meanwhile please accept our deepest apologies for any inconveinience this has caused the League and the other teams whom we are due to play.I am informing Looe,St Blazey and Bocconoc of our decision to withdraw from the League.

St Levan batted first and were soon in trouble as they lost their first 2 wickets in the first 2 overs however, with the best efforts of Geoff Preece with an unbeaten 36, Chris Williams with 33 and Tim Nicholas' unbeaten 20, St Levan eventually made the respectable final total of 110 for 4. The 4 St Levan wickets were shared between the 4 Mount Hawke bowlers of Ollie Turnbull, Steve Cloke, Dean Hicks and Julian Osborne. In reply, the Mount Hawke opener Julian Osborne survived a chance in the first over and this was to prove important as he and captain Ollie Turnbull added 71 for Mount Hawke's first wicket. When Osborne was dismissed for a rapid 46 it was left to Turnbull, with an unbeaten 51, and Steve Cloke to see Mount Hawke pass St Levan's total with 8 wickets in hand and 6 overs to spare. The only wicket taking bowler for St Levan was Jay Wilby who took 2 for 29.
