UKCC 1 Course Content

The course is aimed at beginner coaches who will be able to 'assist more qualified coaches, delivering aspects of coaching sessions, normally under 'direct supervision'. This role may include running warm ups, cool downs, small sided games and small group work. The course is essentially designed for parents and volunteers starting on the coaching pathway.

Module 1: Introduction to Coaching.

Module 2: Using Games to promote learning.

Module 3: Developing technical skills using group coaching.

Module 4: Group Coaching

Assessment: Short multiple choice questionnaire, 15 minute coaching session and debrief. Candidates can except to have an enjoyable experience working with our tutors and gain a vast about of knowledge

Who Should Apply

Candidates must be available for all dates (4 modules of the course & assessment) and be willing to make a commitment to improve cricket within Cornwall. This course is open to anyone interested in furthering their current coaching knowledge. Candidates MUST be 16 years old on the first day of the course.

ALL coaches should become members of the ECBCA.

Course Progression UKCC Cert 2, Coach Development Workshops, Club Coach Award & National UKCC3.
Additional Requirements Pre-requisites CRB (Free), First Aid course and a Safeguarding & Protecting Children Course. Candidates must wear suitable clothing & footwear for cricket coaching! You are suggested to bring cricket bat and gloves but not essential.

UKCC 2 Course Content

The course is aimed at cricket player or experienced coach who wishes to develop their coaching experience and lead coaching sessions within their club. This qualifiaction will allow successful candidates to work alon with coaching groups of players.

The course is structured with 8 modules of work each three hours long. The candidate will have to complete a 10 hour coahing logbook whilst being supported by a UKCC2 or ECB Level 2 coach, including planning and evaluation. The candidate will need to complete a multipul chioce question paper and a final 15 minute group coaching assessment with beginner children.

Safe Hands Workshops

The Safe Hands Workshops aims to outline roles and responsibilities for Club Welfare Officers, give an overview of legislation, roles of external agienges, increase awareness of harmful behaviour to children and young people and to outline the principles or working with children and vulnerable adults.

This course is an essential course for all Cornwall's Club Child Welfare officers. This certificate will last for three years and will need to be updated when it runs out. Any new CWO will need to update.
