Kwik Cricket 2006

Over 100 hundred primary schools took part in kwik cricket competitions this summer organised by the Cornwall Cricket Board and sponsored by ASDA. District competitions took part across the whole of Cornwall with County Final at St Austell Cricket Club.

The winners of each event were as follows: Year 5 - St Hilary, Penzance, Year 6 Mixed - St Hilary, Penzance, Girls - Bude, Hardball - St Hilary, Penzance

St Hilary Primary School from near Penzance also went on to win the Regional final and represent the South West at Trent Bridge in the National Finals

Tim Marrion, Cornwall Cricket Development Manager commented "The Kwik Cricket festivals are great fun for the children each child has a go at bowling and batting and is guaranteed at least 4 games on the day. Kwik cricket is a fast moving game introducing children to the game of cricket. Even though we do have winners on the day it's very much about taking part and enjoying yourselves in the surroundings of a cricket club. Every child that participates goes away with a certificate what ever position they finish'

If any other primary schools wish to get involved next summer in kwik cricket then please do not hesitate to contact Tim Marrion. For further information please contact: Tim Marrion, Cricket Development Manager Tel: 01872 324387 Mobile: 07785 722251 E-mail: tim.marrion@ecb.co.uk
