Director Opportunities for Cornwall Cricket Board Ltd.

The governance of cricket in Cornwall is set for a major change in 2011. The Cornwall Cricket Board is in the process of becoming a 'Limited Company'.

It is following the path of a number of Cricket Boards across the country, including neighbouring Devon. Devon led the way a couple of years ago and their chairman Jim Wood has been most co-operative in helping the Cornwall Board with information about this process. The formation of 'High Performing County Cricket Boards' is being promoted by the ECB. Funding from the ECB is becoming more and more dependent upon criteria and standards reaching certain levels. Boards are now having to take on the direct responsibilities of employing key personnel.

The Cornwall Board have agreed to appoint five Directors who will oversee various sections of organising cricket in Cornwall, each having its own responsibility. Nominations are being requested now for the five unpaid director posts of; Chief Executive, Finance, Administration, Cricket and Development. Provisionally the full Board will also comprise of eight non-executive officers who will represent the County Club, Cornwall League, Representative Youth, Club Youth, Schools, Coaches, Officials and Groundsmen. The Cricket Development Manager, Cricket Centre Manager and Media Officer will have non voting seats on the initial Board.
