Ryan Driver wins Wilfred Rhodes Trophy December 2004
Cornwall all rounder Ryan Driver has received a prestigious award from the Minor Counties Cricket Association. He has received the 'Wilfred Rhodes Trophy' for the leading batting averages after making 545 Championship runs at an average of 90.83 last summer. He received the trophy from former England & Worcestershire batsman Tom Graveney in a ceremony at Lord's. Driver, who came within 12 runs of breaking the Cornwall's highest individual county score, when he made 183 against Oxfordshire at Truro in June, is only the second Cornishman to receive the award following Robin Harvey in 1969. It is however the second successive year a Cornish player has been honoured by the MCCA as Tom Sharp took the Frank Edwards bowling award last year.
