Cornwood were16 for 5 and 33 for 7 as Graham Trenwith & Robert Clackworthy wrecked the top order. St Just won in the 17th over.

Weston-super-mare 165-9 (A Fear 50, G Morgan 32, E Brown 31; M George 2-15, R Clackworthy 2-41),

St Just 168-5 (G Thomas 56, K Noema-Barnett 40, D Roberts 38; Shabil Ahmed 3-34).

St Just beat Weston-super-mare by five wickets and are away in the Quarter finals to either Henley or Totton & Eling (Hampshire) on 5 August (tbc).

 

Quarter Final 29July - delayed to 12 August Full Scorecard

St Just Cricket Club are just one game away from a Lord's final after a dramatic win in their National Club Championship, Cockspur Cup quarter final at Henley on Thames yesterday.

They were set 235 to win in 45 overs and despite needing 62 from the last 7 overs got home with 4 wickets and 4 balls to spare. Neil Curnow made 64 before wicket keeper Gavin Edwards, with 49 not out, guided his side to victory.

In a repeat of last year St Just will now meet Kent side Bromley for a place at Lord's. The tie is next Sunday the 19th August at St Just at 1pm

Henley 234-7 (M Roberts 66, A Greyvenstein 51, P Carter 28no, C Ellison 21; G Thomas 2-28, K Noema-Barnett 2-31),

St Just 236-6 (N Curnow 64, G Edwards 49no, D Roberts 43, G Thomas 27, M George 14no; T Chamberlain 2-20).

St Just beat Henley by four wickets with 4 balls to spare

 

Semi Final on Sunday 19 Aug at St Just

St Just were 32-4 in the 17th over but recovered to 190-9. Gavin Edwards made 45 and Kieran Noema-Barnett 54 with Gareth May 25 not out. A century from Bromley opener Leo Taylor and unbeatenb 46 from Alan Wells saw Bromley to victory which came with 6 wickets and 3 overs to spare.
