Newquay won the Clive Rosevear Insurance Hawkey Cup Final when they beat Menheniot by 30 runs in a high scoring game. Newquay openers Tim Walton and Tim Marrion shared a superb, unbroken first wicket partnership of 187. Walton made 82 not out (4 x 6, 7 x 4) and Marrion 70 not out. (1 x 6, 8 x 4)

Menheniot made a spirited reply with Alex Tunnadine making 44 and Danny Lee 30 in an opening stand of 72 runs in just 9 overs. Menheniot then lost wickets regularly in trying to maintain the run rate. Scott Steward, on his first team debut, took 4 for 29 to leave them 30 runs short on 157-8 at the end of their innings. Tim Walton was named man of the match.
