Newquay clinched the ECB Cornwall Premier League title, with a game to spare, thanks to an emphatic 10 wicket win at Menheniot. The home team were bowled out in 42 overs for 126 having been 106-4 at one stage. Newquay openers Rob Harrison (64no) and Tim Walton (38 no) needed only 21 overs to complete victory. Elsewhere Cornwall batmen Gary Thomas and Tom Sharp warmed up for the C & G game in the Netherlands this week with both making centuries as Truro successfully chased St Just's huge total of 280 at Boscawen Park. Another high scoring game saw Troon fall short by just 9 runs in a drawn game at home to Grampound Road. St Buryan hammered already relegated Mullion by 130 runs while Falmouth remain in contention for the runners up spot with a 4 wicket home win against Callington with Dave Toseland taking 7-39.

Paul's 7 wicket home defeat to Beacon means they cannot catch the North Cornwall club. Hayle trouncing of Helston by 9 wickets and Camborne's win over St Minver, who lost their last 9 wickets for 40 runs, means that Hayle just need 2 points from their last 2 games to relegate Rosudgeon after just one season in the division. Newquay reached their target in 31 overs. A nail biting finish at Callington saw the home team beat Falmouth with just 2 balls to go. Andy Snowdon hitting 60 not out. St Buryan eased past bottom club Mullion by 8 wickets with Wayne Vincent making 52 on his return to his former club. A high scoring game at Grampound Road saw the home side in trouble at 141-6 but recovered to to reach Troon's 257-4 with 3 overs to spare thanks to Nick Carter's 114 not out. In only his second game for St Just, following his recent transfer from St Buryan, Justin Stephens became the first bowler in Cornwall Cricket League history to take all ten wickets in a Countywide Division of the League since the amalgamation took place in 1990. He returned the magnificent figures of 14-5-18-10 at home to Troon who were shot out for 73 in 27 overs . St Just knocked off the runs in just 9.5 overs for the loss of 1 wicket.
Newquay won the important top of the table clash with Falmouth by 2 wickets. Falmouth made 179-9 with skipper Sean Hooper making 60. Newquay moved to within 5 points of the top thanks to an unbeaten 68 from Barry Purchase. There was a magnificent game at Mullion where the struggling home team shocked champions Truro to win by 6 runs with just 5 balls remaining. Mullion made 246-6 with Gareth Taylor making 94 no and Martin van Allemann 87. Truro slumped to 101-5 but almost pulled off a dramatic win with Mark Adams making 65. The last wicket, a run out, fell with the score at 240 off the first ball of the last over in a game where any result was possible.
At Callington St Buryan hit 250-6 dec with openers Nick George making 80 and Carl Gazzard 70. Callington reached 193-7 to draw the game. Likewise at Grampound Road the home team, after being put in, made the large total of 321-5 with Martin Pearce hitting 129 and Chris Hunkin 62. In Menheniot's reply of 252-6 Simon Hunt made 85 and there were fifties for Danny Lee and Alex Tunnandine.
In County Division 1 there were comfortable wins for the top three. Paul beat Hayle by 4 wicket, Werrington beat St Minver by 8 wickets while Helston overcame Camborne by 51 runs. St Buryan were restricted to 147-8 with Falmouth making 148-2 with over 22 overs to spare. Adrian Noott finished on 54 not out. Callington move up to second following a dramatic game at Menheniot which ended in a tie. Menheniot made 246 with Danny Lee hitting 114. Callington were also bowled out for 246 with 2 balls remaining after they had needed just a single off the last over bowled by Alex Tunnadine. Dominic Farris made 85 and Marcus Gilbert 63.
Newquay were unable to force a win at Troon after making 264-5. Ollie Turnbull hit 64. Troon made 230-6 in reply. St Just also had to settle for a winning draw at Mullion after making the large score of 294-5. Gareth May made 106 and Justin Stephens 66 not out on debut. Martin van Allemann made 71 in Mullion's reply of 184-4. Truro's hopes of retaining their title received another blow as they slipped to their 3rd defeat. They made 198-9. Grampound Road recovered from 31-4 to make 201-7 to win by 3 wickets with Chris Hunkin making 105 not out.

On a day of glorious unbroken sunshine Falmouth have opened up a 9 point lead in the Jolly's Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier following their 6 wicket home win over Menheniot. Menheniot made 182-6 with Daniel Lee making 84 not out. Falmouth reached 185-4 with 9 overs to spare. Adrian Noot hit 54 not out. St Buryan dropped 11 points when they could only gain a losing draw at home to St Just. St Just made 274-8 with Gary Thomas hitting 89. St Buryan, thanks to 33 off the last 3 overs managed to gain the consolation of 2 losing draw points as they reached 210-7. Bobby Dawson made 55. Newquay confirmed their championship challenge with a 67 run win over Truro. Ryan Driver made 63 in Newquay's 208-9. Truro were bowled out for 141 with Neil Ivamy taking 6 for 47. Jon Kent top scored with 43. Callington also maintained their challenge with a 7 wicket home win over Troon. Martin Jenkin made 64 in Troon's 176 all out. They were dismissed for only 79 with Lloyd Sluman taking 7 for 19. Menheniot reached 80 for the loss of 1 wicket. There was a thrilling finish at Truro where the home team beat Callington by 3 wickets off the last ball. Andy Hocking made 59 in Callington's 187 all out. Truro made 188 for 7 in reply with Jon Kent top scoring with 33.
Falmouth won by 8 wickets at Troon after Troon made 183-7. Falmouth replied with 186-2 with Larry Martin making 70 and Sean Hooper 62 not out. Newquay won easily at Mullion by 139 runs after making 232 for 4 declared. Tim Marrion made 67. Mullion were dismissed for 93.

There were wins for Falmouth and Callington with the games at St Buryan and Troon being abandoned due to rain and Grampound Road gained a winning draw against Truro.

Truro held on for a draw at home to Grampound Road. Grampound Road made 195-8 with Martin Pearce hitting 76. Truro with 23 overs to go were 87-7 but in damp conditions reached 166-9 at the end. In the west Cornwall derby St Just made 178-9 with fifties for Neil Curnow and Gareth May. St Buryan had reached 35 without loss in 15 overs when rain abandoned play.

Truro's unbeaten run in the Jolly's Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League, stretching over more then two years, finally came to an end at Boscawen Park, when Falmouth snatched a dramatic late victory, by 115 runs. David Roberts made an excellent 114 not out for Falmouth, sharing another large opening stand of 154, with Larry Martin who made 56. Falmouth made 234-3 in their maximum of 45 overs due to a late start. Dave Toseland with 6-44 and Kris Subramanian, who took the last four wickets for no runs in a single over, bowled Falmouth to victory with 3 overs to go. Truro were dismissed for 119 with Neil Stoddard carrying his bat for 49.
Leaders St Buryan had to be content with a draw at Grampound Road, where the home team's last pair saw out the final over. St Buryan made 226 for 4 with Tim Edwards, again in excellent form, hitting 125 not out. Chris Hunkin made 74 in a brave bid for victory as Grampound Road ended 20 runs short. Shane Mellor took 4-54. Troon were comprehensive winners by 132 runs at home to Menheniot. Alan Shears made 64 in Troon's total of 215-7. Six batsmen hit centuries in the ECB Cornwall Premier League with all five games producing wins for: St Buryan, Truro, Falmouth, Menheniot and Callington. Records were broken at Menheniot where Alex Tunnadine hit what is thought to be the highest ever score in the top division of the League. He hit 209 not out as Menheniot amassed 391 for 5 with Mullion made 99 in reply. At Troon Tom Sharp made 121 and Jonathan Kent 108 in Truro's 302 for 4 declared. Troon were bowled out for 222. St Buryan's Tim Edwards hit 122 in his sides 261 all out at home to Newquay who were dismissed for just 97. Neil Curnow made 110 in St Just's 238 for 7 at Falmouth. Falmouth replied with an unbroken stand of 241 to win by 10 wickets with David Roberts making 130 not out and Larry Martin 91 not out. At Callington bowlers dominated as Ian Bishop took 6-26 to bowl Grampound Road out for 123 then Nick Carter took 6 for 19 as Callington squeezed home making 126-7.

Truro made 221 for 3 declared with Tom Sharp hitting 100 not out and Neil Stoddard 73. Mullion replied with 166 for 8. St Buryan hammered Callington by 128 runs. Wayne Vincent made 88 on debut in St Buryan's 192 then Justin Stephens took 7 for 28 to bowl the visitors out for just 64. Newquay, won their first ever Premiership game in a thrilling finish at Falmouth. Falmouth made 144 for 8 in 55 overs. Newquay's last pair got the 11 runs needed to win by 1 wicket with 13 balls to spare. Troon skipper Jason Weeks hit 71 in his teams 205 against St Just. Jamie Semmens took 5 for 56. St Just were bowled out for 178 with Gary Thomas making 57. The Menheniot versus Grampound Road game was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
