ECB Cornwall Premier League Newquay clinched the ECB Cornwall Premier League title, with a game to spare, thanks to an emphatic 10 wicket win at Menheniot. The home team were bowled out in 42 overs for 126 having been 106-4 at one stage. Newquay openers Rob Harrison (64no) and Tim Walton (38 no) needed only 21 overs to complete victory. Elsewhere Cornwall batmen Gary Thomas and Tom Sharp warmed up for the C & G game in the Netherlands this week with both making centuries as Truro successfully chased St Just's huge total of 280 at Boscawen Park. Another high scoring game saw Troon fall short by just 9 runs in a drawn game at home to Grampound Road. St Buryan hammered already relegated Mullion by 130 runs while Falmouth remain in contention for the runners up spot with a 4 wicket home win against Callington with Dave Toseland taking 7-39.
