Shipton-Under-Wychwood (h) (Oxfordshire) 266-2 (A Hemming 137, S Bates 72no),

Shipton-Under-Wychwood beat Troon by 56 runs.

There will be no repeat of a Lord’s final for Troon this year as they were knocked out of the npower national Village Cup on Sunday. They lost their quarter final in Oxfordshire by 56 runs. After an opening stand of 80, broken by Troon skipper Steve Eddy, the home team were 109 for one after 25 overs. They accelerated to end on 267 for two from their allotted 40 overs. Opener Andrew Hemming made 137 and stand-in skipper Steve Bates 72 not out. Troon lost a couple of early wickets and were 80 for four at the halfway mark. They were never in serious contention and ended on 210 for seven. Gavin Tregenza made 57 , Tim Kitchen 43 no, Daniel Mitchell 28 and Dan Jenkin 21. Shipton now face a trip to Surrey side Rowledge where the winners will win a trip to the home of cricket. Fillongley (Leics & Warwicks) meet Sessay (North Yorshire) in the other semi final.
