Final at Camborne on Wed 19th July

St Just v Paul

St Just made it three in a row, and five out of the last six, when they won the Bradleys Vinter Cup Final at Camborne   Needing 126 Gary Thomas steered them home with 42 not out as they won by eight wickets with 14 balls to spare. St Just reached 35 in the seventh over before David Roberts holed out to square leg, off Anthony Hosking for 15. Neil Curnow followed for 38, at 78-2 in the 13th over. Thomas and Gavin Edwards (18 not out) needed 31 off the last five overs but won comfortably with Thomas finishing the game with three successive boundaries.

Having elected to bat Paul got off to a bad start when Andrew Snell was run out after a mix up in the second over. Then Neil Pengelly hit a return catch to Nick George in the next over to make it 16 for 2. Brendan Crook and Cas James recovered to add 31 in only four overs before James was stumped off Mark George for 16. Crook, who was later named Bill Bosanko Man of the Match, entertained the good sized crowd, on an increasingly sunny and very warm evening. He hit seven boundaries in his 50 off 45 balls. He was fifth out at 104 in the 17th over. Mark George picked up 4 for 31 as late wickets tumbled with the Division 1 leaders all out off the penultimate ball for 125. Nick George and Dewayne Bowden took two wickets for 33 apiece.
