St Just won the Vinter Cup Final at Camborne for a sixth successive year after beating local rivals Paul by 18 runs in a low scoring game. St Just lost both openers for 0 and were indebted to Gary Thomas with 29 and Gavin Edwards with 25 to get them to 82 all out on a slow pitch. Paul reached 51 for 3 before collapsing to 64 all out. Mark George was the man of the match taking five wickets for just eight runs

St Just 82 (G Thomas 29, G Edwards 25; J Stephens 3-18, N Pengelly 3-20, Kashif Shafi 2-15), Paul 64 (J Stephens 18; M George 5-8). St Just beat Paul by 18 runs.

Semi -finals

In thes first Vinter Cup semi-final Paul beat Truro at Redruth by 13 runs. Paul made 170 for 3 with Ryan Edwards making 69 not out and Kelvin Snell 56. Truro lost early wickets and were always behind the rate. They ended on 157 for 7 with Jonathan Kent 59 not out.

Antony Angove took wickets at both ends of the St Just innings to end with five for 18. After David Roberts made 22 Gary Thomas hit 32 off 46 balls. Nick George wrecked the Falmouth top order to take four for 13 off his five overs and with Thomas only conceding 12 runs at the other end Falmouth were in trouble at 26 for four off ten overs. Duncan Ayres made 23 but they never threatened the St Just total

.Vinter Cup Semi Final at Hayle CC- St Just 111-8 (G Thomas 32, D Roberts 22, G May 16; A Angove 5-18, G Popperwell 2-27, Falmouth 88-8 (D Ayres 23; N George 4-13, M George 3-26). St Just beat Falmouth by 23 runs.
