IMPORTANT INFORMATION NEW October 2007 Dear Coach/Club Secretary Further to the last meeting of the Cornwall Association of Cricket Coaches, I am writing to inform all clubs and coaches within Cornwall of the following important information. All cricket coaches, whatever level, need to be aware that they must have an up to date CRB check, First Aid certificate and Safeguarding/ Protection Certificate in order to partake in the coaching of cricket to players of any age. If you are coaching without the relevant certification - you must be aware that your insurance will be void. IMPORTANT - For your insurance to cover you in the event of any problem, you must re-new your above certificates if they are out of date, most run out after 3 years. Here are the dates for some up and coming courses:- to book or if you cannot attend any of these please check the website for further details of courses or contact the Cornwall Sports Partnership Offices on 01872 324387. Emergency First Aid for Cricket Coaches Sat 3rd November, 2007 10 - 1.00 pm or 2 - 5.00 pm both held at The Training Centre, Lusty Glaze Beach, Newquay. To all Potential Coaches (Oct 2005) Coach Education - UK Coaching Certificate Level 2 Coach Award - replacing old level One The England and Wales Cricket Board Coaches Association in partnership with 1st4sportqualifications have restructured their coach education courses so the old level one will be replaced with: UK Coaching Certificate Level 1 - Coaching Assistant Course - 12 hrs plus assessment. UK Coaching Certificate Level 2 - Coach Award - 24 hrs plus 10 hrs voluntary coaching and assessment. The UK Coaching Certificate Level 2 Coach Award includes a Good Practice and Child Protection workshop, a First Aid qualification and your first years membership to CACC including insurance. This course is also open to candidates who have no other coaching qualifications but is recommended that they have cricket playing experience or coaching/teaching experience.
