There were some surprise results on the final day in County Division 1. Champions Hayle, fielding a wekened team, came unstuck at bottom side Goldsithney losing by 68 runs after Goldsithney hit a huge 331 for 6. St Austell secured runners up spot, despite losing at home to Rosudgeon by 2 wickets in a game that produced over 500 runs. Penzance finished third after six wicket home win over Gorran. At the bottom Redruth ensured their survival with an 87 run win over Launceston while neighbours Beacon ended in the relegation zone despite beating Paul by 48 runs.
