Bedfordshire at Dunstable Mon 1 / Tue 2 August Cornwall Under 17's beat Bedfordshire Under 17's on the first innings in their two day ECB Under 17 County Championship game at Dunstable. The home team were bowled out for 131 with Kelvin Snell taking 4 for 10. Cornwall replied with 256 for 8 dec. Alex Smeeth made 66 and Steve Raven 64, with Joe Crane (32) and Snell (26no) making useful contributions. The home team crawled to 161 for 6 in their second innings to deny Cornwall an outright win. The match saw Cornwall bowl 150 overs and concede just 292 runs. Berkshire at Camborne 16/17 August Cornwall Under 17's need to win their final ECB County Championship game against Gloucestershire at Bristol University on 30/31 August to win promotion. In the game against Berkshire at Camborne they held out for a draw after following on. Berkshire, having won the toss, made the big score of 396 for 9 dec in their first innings. Cornwall Under 17's missed out on promotion from Division Three of the ECB Under 17 County Championship when they could only manage a losing draw in their final two-day game against Gloucestershire at Bristol University. Cornwall under 16's won through to the National Finals when they beat the Isle of Wight at Werrington by nine wickets. Paul's Ryan Edwards made a fine 97 not out. Cornwall Under 16's have finished third in the Under 16 National finals held at Haileybury College, Hertfordshire. They lost their semi final against Norfolk by 51 runs but went on to beat Cheshire in the 3rd/4th place play off by 26 runs. U16 National finals Semi final Norfolk 216 - 8 (Alex Smeeth 5 for 45, Robin Kendall 2 for 26), Cornwall 165 all out (Matt Rowe 54 Ryan Edwards 23 Richard Kellow 21). Norfolk beat Cornwall by 51 runs
