The make up of the divisions of the Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League for 2004 have taken another twist. Mullion, who were relegated to County Division 1 and, if a replacement is required, would have been the first alternative according to the League Rules have officially made a request to the League that they also be downgraded. They wish to take over their second XI fixtures in Division 5 with the second XI, that will have a number of young players, dropping down to the lowest Division 8.

Club Chairman David Fowles, in an official letter to the League said, " We played the whole of the 2003 season with at least four members of our 2nd XI and were relegated. Next season we have no professional or overseas players. In fact it appears that over 80% of last years 1st XI are unavailable including our captain Kevin Bosustow, who is starting a new career. We are most depressed at the situation after having brought the club up to the highest standard but the one bright spot is that we have at the moment between 30 and 40 youngsters attending coaching each week at Mullion School.

If the LMC agree to their request vacancies will need to be made up in County Division 1 and all the western divisions of the League.
