Publication of Cup Draws

The Cornwall League Homepage now has the Centenary Handicap Knock-out Cup draws plus Dawe Insurance Andrew Cup and Mining Division Evening League draws and fixtures plus Warrens Vinter & Clive Rosevear Insurance Hawkey Cup Draws. It is usual practice for clubs to be informed of such information before being made public but the League are wary that the season is fast approaching and clubs will be organising fixture cards, websites etc. Details of the new Sunday Cup Competitions and Centenary Throwing the Cricket Ball Challenge will be finalised very shortly when a big mailshot will be sent to clubs. Club personnal reading this please make your club officials aware of the above information please.

The Cornwall Association of Cricket Groundsmen was formed at St Austell CC on Wednesday 2nd February 2005. The main aims of the Association are to : 1. Improve the standards of Clubs and School grounds, pitches and general outdoor facilities. 2. Increase communication of all the latest methods and technology. 3. Promote opportunities of education and training. 4. Assist Club and School groundsmen in gaining the practical and administrative skills required for playing cricket. 5. Improve the all round knowledge and education of groundsmen within the cricketing County of Cornwall. 6. Maintain a list of current members and those groundsmen who have taken an approved training course. Cancelled League games & Vinter Cup

The Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League's Management Committee have confirmed that cancelled League matches will see both teams being awarded 6 points each. Also this year's Warrens Vinter Cup Final will return to the traditional venue of Camborne CC on Wednesday 13th July.

 

Sunday Cup Competitions

Following the vote to end rearranged League games at the recent AGM two new Sunday Cup competition are being introduced for County 1 and Divs 2 E & W and for Division 3 and below.. Clubs have received enrty Form. Click here for electronic copy. These must be returned by 14th February. email to League Sec Michael Evans Clubs will not be obligated to enter but a prompt response is required in order to organise the fixtures etc.

Clubs can enter a team in either or both of the competitions, which will be for County One & Division 2 teams and Division 3 and below teams. The second competition supersedes the existing Complementary Cup. Competing teams will be placed in geographical groups of around six teams and play a round robin competition. The top teams will progress to the knock-out stages. The group dates are Sundays 15th May, 5th & 19th June, 10th & 31st July.
