Trelowarren Arms pull out of the League

The Penryn based club Trelowarren Arms have pulled out of the Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League, with immediate effect. The club, who were due to compete in Division 5 West this year, have informed the League that due to a lack of players, and uncertainty over their ground and facilities at Penryn College they have made the decision to withdraw. Formerly known as Boslowick Inn, they joined the League in 1992. The club finished bottom of Division 4 last season. Despite some speculation, they officially indicated to the League in the autumn that were continuing, prior to the divisions being formed. Division 5 West will now comprise of 11 teams in 2006. Indoor 6 a side County Play off Cornwall vs Devon

The Cornwall Champions Truro CC entertained the Devon Champions Cornwood at Fowey Leisure Centre in the Indoor 6 a side Cornwall v Devon play-off. Truro, after being put in, had difficulty in coming to terms with the Cornwood bowling and apart from County Captain Tom Sharp, who was last out for an impressive 37, no other Truro player scored more than 5. Truro were grateful for the 28 extras in their final score of 76. Harris was the pick of the bowlers taking 3-15

Cornwood made a steady start and managed 22 for the first wicket but the match was almost over when the next wicket fell on 58. Tom Sharp then took two excellent caught and bowled chances to put Truro in with a slim chance, but Cornwood pushed and nudged their way to victory with 4 balls remaining. Bees ending on 25 not out. Man of the match Tom Sharp had an excellent all round game taking 2-17 and had one other player come close to his performance Truro would be playing in next weeks regional finals at Somerset.

Truro (Cornwall) 76 (T Sharp 37, extras 28; Harris 3-15, Mansfield 1-19)

Cornwood (Devon) 77 - 4 (Bees 25 no, Warren 16, Harris 14; T Sharp 2-17, C Phillips 1-20, J Bridger 1-24)

Cornwood beat Truro by 2 wickets.

Important Website news for Cornwall Cricket League Clubs

Changes have been made on this site to assist Cornwall League Club Officials in their administration. The Downloads   page, which continues be accessed from the right hand column of the homepage, has been revamped. In addition to the previous downloads of League Forms and Child Welfare related forms it now also includes a new archive of all the League correspondence sent to clubs by email as from January 2006. This will enable club officials to check they are up to date with the latest correspondence and download anything that they require.

All clubs on the CCL e-mail data base will of course continue to initially receive all documents direct by e-mail in the first instance. Over 85% of the League's 77 clubs have submitted official named e-mail contacts (primarily secretaries) since the project was started in November 2005.

Also the new Cornwall Sports Partnerships Website (still under construction) has a direct link from the logo on this website's homepage and also from the Cricket Development Manager Newspage which can also be accessed from the homepage for speed.
