The following are requests by clubs for fixtures in Cornwall in 2009

February 2009

Email Address: matt_guy999@hotmail.com Comments My name is Matthew Guy, and I am the fixtures secretary for Aston University, based in Birmingham. Our cricket club is touring the Newquay area from June 21-25, and looking for potential fixtures. I was wondering if you could help me at all, recommending which teams I could contact for midweek games, being 20-20, or up to 50over an innings game. The strength of our team will be varied, as we will have a mixture of our 1st and 2nd teams playing in each game.

Name: David Gollop Email Address: d.gollop2@btinternet.com Comments We tour Cornwall the first week of september and saturday is aproblem this year to get a game as the league season is later. Are there any sides in the truro/redruth area that only play friendlies or league sides that don't have games??? Dave Gollop Halberton & sampford Peverell Cricket club FROM DEVON

Email Address: scott.sanders@gtuk.com Comments Hi there, I am writing on behalf of Loddington Cricket Club in Northamptonshire. We are due for a cricket tour in the Cornwall area around the first week in August 2009. I am enquiring if I could possibly have some contacts who I can speak to in respect to a couple of fixtures in this week. We play in Division 2 of the Northamptonshire Cricket League and plan to bring a relatively strong side to tour. Our website is www.lmcricket.com and I would be very greatful for a response on this matter.

Name: Daniel Peters Email Address: dgp21@sussex.ac.uk Comments Hi, we are Sussex University Cricket team and we will be touring in Devon and Cornwall (based in Bude) between the 10th-19th April. We are looking to organise some matches during this time, but have had mixed luck contacting teams directly so far!

Name: Mark Jones Email Address: jonah_uk11@hotmail.com Comments Loxwood Cricket Club, a village side from West Sussex are looking for two fixtures within a drivable distance of Newquay for Saturday 1st August and Sunday 2nd August 2009. If we cannot get a game on a Saturday due to league fixtures we would be open to an evening game on the Friday. We are of a village standard so would appeal to the social sides of Cornwall. If you can help please feel free to contact me.

Blunham CC, in Bedfordshire are touring Cornwall next year during the week of 20th July onwards, and are staying in the Lostwithiel area. We already have some fixtures arranged, but are specifically looking for fixtures on the 22nd and 24th of July. On the 22nd we already have a game on the scilly isles but there are that many of us staying on the mainland that we hoped to try and play two games simultaneously, with those that are left behind. As a club, we have recently broken the Guinness world record for the longest continuous game of cricket, which has just been ratified in the last few weeks. Please could you circulate this request to any of your member clubs who may be interested in hosting us. For more information about ours elves please visit our website: www.blunhamcc.20m.com

Email Address: matthewguest@hotmail.co.uk Comments I am emailing on behalf of Walthamstow Cricket Club in London (playing in the Essex League). We are looking to tour Cornwall in 2009 in the first full week of August (sunday 2nd - friday 7th) . We are looking for fixtures for 3 if not all of the following days Monday 3rd, Tuesday 4th, Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th. Ideally we would like to play some half decent sides who can get a decent XI out and are obviously up for a few beers after the game. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Matthew Guest Walthamstow Cricket Club http://walthamstowcc.hitscricket.com
