Truro College Cricket Academy, have 14 lads and 1 female academy player going to the World Cricket Academy Centre in Mumbai, India in March of this year. As you can imagine the cost for each player is quite high and the group are putting a lot of effort into fundraising including a Fundraising Gala.

The Gala Evening takes place on Friday 2nd February, 7 for 7.30 pm at the Hotel Victoria, Newquay. Robert Croft is the guest of honour, Charlie Shreck will also be attending and taking part in a cricket 'question and answer' session. There will also be a sit down meal, entertainment from Comedian Stewart Masters, an auction, silent auction and other entertainment, including a disco. Cornwall Women & Girls. There will be an Open Nets Session for all those players wishing to trial for the 2007 county squad. Any Women or Girls who are going to attend the open session should kindly let the Manager know as soon as possible. The session will be held at Cornwall College Sports Hall Pool, Redruth on Saturday 27th January 2007 9am to 12 noon A Charge of £5.00 per person will be payable on the day. The ‘Cornwall Sports Awards’ is an annual event which is set up to recognise the hard work and dedication of local people giving their time to their sporting passion in Cornwall. The 2007 Cornwall Sports Awards will take place on Wednesday 6 June 2007 (evening), and will recognise the work achieved by the sports community from 1 May 2006 to 31 March 2007. A Girls County Representative Winter Cricket Coaching session will be held on Sunday 14th January at Poltair Sports College, St Austell between 12 noon and 3pm. Girls U13, U15 and U17 age group teams will compete in ECB competition this year so all girls are welcome to attend the session. The Coaches will assess everyone that attends and then invite the selected squad for the back for further sessions. All girls who wish to be considered will just need to turn up and register with the coaches on the day.
