Truro points corrected

Truro's1st XI points total in the Premier League has been corrected to read 282 points. Their game at Menheniot on 21st July was mistakenly calculated and reported as 17 points after a point deduction when it should have been 18 points after a point deduction (10 win, 5 batting bonus, 4 bowling bonus minus 1 slow over rate)

 

League Finals

The venues for the Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League County Finals on Saturday 14th September have been announced. They are: Division 2 - Truro C C ; Division 3 - Roche C C ; Division 4 - Falmouth C C ; Division 5 - St Austell C C ; Division 6 - Perranporth C C ; Division 7 - Liskeard C C .

 

St Buryan v Truro date set

The Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League's Management Committee have announced the rearranged date of the outstanding St Buryan v Truro ECB Cornwall Premier League game which was postponed on the Bank Holiday on 3rd June, due to Cornwall's Minor County game at Berkshire. The game will be played on Sunday 1st September at St Buryan. The teams have yet to play each other this year. They are due to meet at Truro on 17th August and the third meeting is the final game of the season at St Buryan on Saturday 7th September. The other outstanding game that was postponed because of the County game in June takes place on Sunday 4th august when Camborne play Grampound Road.

 

St Just retain Edwards Cup

Vinter Cup winners St Just retained the Edwards Cup defeating Clive Rosevear Insurance Hawkey Cup winners Gorran by 23 runs at St Austell.

After being put in St Just's Neil Curnow 38 and Gary Thomas 33 put on 69 in 9 overs. Once parted good bowling from Rob Daniel with 5 for 20 reduced St Just to 119-8 off their 20 overs.

Gorran reached 24 without loss but a remarkable spell of 6 for 9 off 4.1 overs from professional Amer Khan sealed their fate. Adrian Noot made 23 but they were bowled out for 96 in the 20th over.

St Just 119-8: N Curnow 38, G Thomas 33, G May 15, D Sawle 10no; R Daniel 5-20, C Lovell 1-29, K Harris 1-35.

Gorran 96: A Noot 23, M Liddicoat 13, P Bunney 12, C Lovell 10; A Khan 6-9, G Thomas 2-21, M Roberts 1-13, N Smitheram 1-36.

St Just beat Gorran by 23 runs. Man of the Match Amer Khan.

 

 

St Levan win Runciman Cup

Hawkey & Edwards Finals new dates

Heavy Showers in the St Austell area on Thursday afternoon caused the rearranged Clive Rosevear Insurance Hawkey Cup Final to be postponed.

The new date is Thursday 18th July at St Austell at 6pm

As a result the Edwards Cup Final Gorran or Grampound Road v St Just has been put back to Tuesday 23rd July at St Austell at 6pm

 

St Just win Vinter Cup

St Just retained the Vinter Cup at Camborne beating Troon by 50 runs on Wednesday evening.

Hawkey Final gets go ahead

Following an 8pm pitch inspection on Wednesday evening St Austell's Wheal Eliza grund was given the go ahead to stage theClive rosevear insurance Hawkey Cup Final on Thursday (11th) evening.

 

Hawkey Cup Final called off

The Clive Rosevear Insurance Hawkey Cup Final was called off on Tuesday evening without a ball being bowled as a result of early evening, heavy rain showers in the St Austell area. Both teams and officials assembled but there was no hope of play being possible. An inspection on Wednesday evening will determine whether conditions are suitable for the game to be rescheduled for Thursday evening at Wheal Eliza.

 

Cornwall lose in Dorset on Run Rate

Cornwall 149 all out in 45 over game:

Justin Stephens represents Minor Counties Under 25's

St Buryan's Justin Stephens is selected again for the Minor Counties Under 25 team in the following games:

Thursday 4th July at Studley Warwickshire 2nd XI v MCCA

Friday 5th at Isham Northamptonshire 2nd XI v MCCA
