Cornwall’s Minor Counties Championship game with Wiltshire was abandoned as a draw with Cornwall taking only 8 points out of a possible 24. The County were frustrated bSomerset withdraw fron Women's Championshipy two successive days of rain at Camborne which, added to the rain ruined game against Cheshire at St Austell recently, has probably cost Cornwall a realistic chance of winning the championship for the first time.

They still lead the table by a point but four of the six teams in contention behind them have an important game in hand. Cornwall’s final game is away to reigning champions Herefordshire in mid August which, in addition to needing to win, they will need a number of other results to go in their favour as well.
