Warrens Vinter Cup semi-final put back 24 hours

Following a heavy downpour from 5pm at Troon the St Just v Truro semi-final has been put back 24 hours to Thursday evening at 6pm

 

Premier final day put back 24 hours

The Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League's Management Committee have decided that the set of Premier League fixtures scheduled for Saturday 30th August will be played 24 hours later on Sunday 31st August. Cornwall are playing Holland on Thur 28th / Fri 29th August (reserve day) in the C & G Trophy. The County Club have recently confirmed that players are likely to be arriving home around mid-day on the Saturday. The LMC wish all players to be available and all teams to play at the same time on the final day of the Premier League season, in the interests of all clubs and to ensure fairness

 

Under 21's v Crusaders teams

A Cornwall Under 21's XI play the Cornish Crusaders at Camborne on Wednesday 18th June. The game is a warm up for the Under 21's forthcoming four match ECB 38 Counties programme. The 50 over game begins at 1pm.

Arrangements have been made for the Warren's Vinter Cup and Clive Rosevear Insurance Hawkey Cup semi-finals which will be played during the week commencing 23rd June.

Warrens Vinter Cup Semi-Finals

Monday 23rd June Helston v Perranarworthal at Falmouth C C 6pm

Wednesday 25th June -St Just v Truro at Troon CC 6pm

Clive Rosevear Insurance Hawkey Cup Semi-Finals

Tuesday 24th June Gorran v Menheniot St Austell CC

Thursday 26th June Callington v Newquay at St. Austell CC

Note both Hawkey semis are now at at St Austell following a change after initial publication.

 

Stephens transfer completed

The Jolly's Drinks ECB Cornwall Cricket League Premier League Registration Secretary Michael Evans has confirmed that the transfer of Cornwall bowler Justin Stephens from St Buryan to St Just has been officially completed and he is eligible to play for his new club on Saturday 22nd June at Mullion.

 

 

Vinter Cup Review

The Truro v St Buryan Warren's Vinter Cup Quarter Final was postponed on both Monday and Tuesday and will be played on Monday 16th June at Truro at 6pm.

On Thursday St Just easily won their Warren's Vinter Cup Quarter Final at Mullion by 10 wickets with 9 overs to spare. Mullion made 89 for 8. St Just responded with 92 without loss with former county captain Gary Thomas smashing 7 sixes and 7 fours in his 76 not out made off just 33 balls.

Following the game the draw for the semi-finals was made and resulted St Just v either Truro or St Buryan , who play on Monday. A County Division 1 side is guaranteed a place in the final as Helston will play Perranarworthal in the other semi-final. The games will take place during the week commencing 23rd June at neutral venues to be announced. Newquay won their Clive Rosevear Insurance Hawkey Cup Quarter Final at Grampound Road by 39 runs last night. Newquay made 170-4 against a below strength attack. Ryan Driver made 62 not out. Grampound Road reached 131-7 in reply. In the semi-finals Newquay will play Callington and Gorran take on Menheniot again during the week commencing 23rd June at neutral venues to be announced.

 

Under 21's called off

Cornwall Under 21's game with Exeter University, which was due to be played at Menheniot on Wednesday (11th), has been cancelled. The University have been told that they must play their BUSA semi-final against Loughborough University on Wednesday, which was rained off on Sunday.
