A bumper crowd of around two thousand saw Somerset beat Cornwall in the 20/20 game at Truro last night. Somerset, who disappointingly were without their international players, made 194 for 5 in their 20 overs. Cornishman Neil Edwards made 36, Arul Suppiah 35 not out off just 14 balls, Keith Parsons 30 and Carl Gazzard was 24 not out. Tom Sharp took 2-38 and Rob Harrison and Mark George a wicket apiece.

Needing the tall order of almost 10 an over Cornwall went for their shots but lost wickets to be 33-6 off 8 overs. They recovered to make 114 for 9 with Antony Angove making 31 and Martin Jenkin 18 not out. Peter Trego and Simon Francis took three wickets apiece and Richard Johnson two.Scorecard
