There are two forms of league cricket they are: Sunday League: The format of this is a 35 over game, 11 a side. Evening League: The format of this is a 12 over game, 8 a side. The is also a Falmouth Festival with a 6 a side form of the game.

Womens Sunday League 4 July saw Camborne travel to Truro in a top of the table clash. Camborne batted first and made 118-3 (N.Weeks 76, E.Pierce 1-3, H.Grice 1-9). It was a tight match with Truro scored 117-9 (H.Grice 38, L.Fletcher 23, E Tresidder 5-15) requiring 1 run off the last ball. Camborne 17 points, Truro 4 points. Card

Falmouth were due to host Redruth but this weekend saw the first ‘rain stopped play’. Falmouth 6 points, Redruth 6 points.

Womens Sunday League 11 July Truro travel to Grampound Road on an overcast typically cricket weather day. Grampound Road won the toss and put Truro into bat, in their 35 overs Truro made 213 -5 (Hannah Grice 83, Rebecca Rowe 62no, Beth Willshaw 1-21, Becky Goodman 1-43, Katie Pearce 1-46, Gayle King 1-46). Grampound Road in reply made 90-7 in their 35 overs (Gayle King 28, Lorraine Fletcher 3-13, Ele Pierce 2-14, Rebecca Rowe 1-7). Truro 18 points, Grampound Road 5 points. Camborne v Redruth has been rescheduled due to pitch availability to 15th August 2010.

Womens Sunday League 18 JulyTruro continued their winning ways when Redruth came to Boscawen Park. Redruth won the toss and elected to bat, with some superb bowling from Bex Rowe 3-10, Hannah Grice 2-3 and Ashley Bridges, Redruth were all out for 48 in the 17th over (Nikki Kelman 25). Truro reached the total of 49 in the 8th over for the loss of 3 wickets (Becky Kennedy 3-26, Hannah Grice 12, Lisa Reeks 12no). Truro 20 points, Redruth 2 points. Unfortunately Grampound Road had to concede to Falmouth on Sunday. Next Sunday is the Falmouth 6a side festival starting at 10.30am.

(17th June) the Sunday League match of Redruth Ladies vs Truro Ladies took place at Redruth Cricket Club. Redruth won the toss and put Truro into bat. Truro reached 228 for 2 wickets (Lorraine Fletcher 66*, Angela Lewis 61*, Sue Earnshaw 35, Sarah Stevens 2-18) off the 35 overs. Redruth reached 64 for 7 wickets in their 35 overs (Tiffany Hobbs 17, Kathryn Billing 16, Hannah Grice 3-14, Ashley Bridges 1-6, Lorraine Fletcher 1-10, Angela Lewis 1-11, Hayley Stroud 1-13). Truro 18pts, Redruth 2pts.

(24th June) the Sunday League match of Truro Ladies vs St Just Ladies took place at Truro Cricket Club. ? won the toss and put Truro into bat. Truro reached 176 for 3 wickets (Sue Earnshaw 71*, Hannah Grice 32*, Lorraine Fletcher 22, C Hosken 1-24, H Hosken 1-25) off the 35 overs. St Just reached 60 all out in 27.5 overs (Katy Whittaker 28, Hannah Grice 3-17(incl Hat-trick), Lorraine Fletcher 2-4, Ashley Bridges 1-12, E Pierce 1-16). Truro 19pts, St Just 2pts.

8th July, The Sunday League match of Falmouth Ladies vs Truro Ladies took place at Falmouth Cricket Club. Falmouth won the toss and put Truro into bat. Truro reached 201 for 1 (Hannah Grice 77*, Lorraine Fletcher 38*, Sue Earnshaw 35*, Donna McAdam 1-34) off the 35 overs. Falmouth reached 101 for 8 in their 35 overs (Helen Angove 21, Sue Leathley 17, Jen Pierce 3-22, Lorraine Fletcher 3-29, Eleanor Pierce 1-10). Truro 19pts, Falmouth 2pts. S

St Just Ladies vs Rosudgeon Ladies took place at St Just Cricket Club. Rosudgeon batted first and reached a total of 150 for 3 in their 35 overs, in reply St Just reached 105 all out in 29 overs. Rosudgeon 18pts, St Just 3pts.

21st July Truro v Rosudgeon at Truro Truro won the toss and elected to bat, in the 37 overs Truro reached 161 for 6 (Sue Earnshaw 55, Lorraine Fletcher 30, Emma Pascoe 2-37). In reply Rosudgeon reached 92 all out in 33.5 overs (Emma Pascoe 25, Viv Searle 20, Lorraine Fletcher 3-20). Truro 19pts and Rosudgeon 5pts

8 Sept Rosudgeon v Redruth. Rosudgeon 289 for 2 off 35 overs. Emma Pascoe 94. Kerry Matthews 101 not out. Redruth all out for 26. K Matthews 2 -2, M Polglase 2 for 6 runs. Rosudgeon won by 263 runs.

16th September Truro v Falmouth. Falmouth won the toss and decided to bat. The opening bowlers of Jennifer and Eleanor Pierce took 6 wickets, with Eleanor taking 3 in one over (E Pierce 4-6, J Pierce 2-5, H Taylor 2-7, H Grice 1-1) Falmouth made 20 all out in 10.5 overs. Truro passed their target in 2.4 overs without loss. (22-0 J Pierce 16no, L Fletcher 2no). This topped a superb season when Truro Ladies were undefeated in their league programme and won the Cornwall Womens League for the first time. Truro Ladies have also retained the Evening league title and won the Indoor tournament

(20th May2007) the Ladies Spring Festival was held at Truro Cricket Club. Six teams took part including the two new teams of Redruth and Camborne. The final saw Camborne take on Rosudgeon. Rosudgeon batted first and reached a total of 61 for 1 in their 8 overs with Rachel Eustice scoring 32. Camborne managed to score 58 for their eight runs, Rosudgeon won by 3 runs.

 

On Sunday 11th March 2007 we held the indoor competition at Truro Leisure Centre and the final was Rosudgeon versus Truro, Truro batted and reached 92 for 1 off their eight overs. Rosudgeon in reply reach 83 runs in the 8 overs. Truro won by 9 runs. Falmouth were the other team competing.

Summer Tournaments 2005

Falmouth Festival at Trescobeas on Sunday 31st July

Nine teams entered in a league/knock-out competition. In the semi-finals St Just beat Falmouth A and Rosudgeon A beat Rosudgeon B. In the final Rosudgeon A made 66-0 and bowled St Just out for 26. St Neot, Truro, Newquay, Falmouth B and a mixed team also took part. The day was a great success with more than 200 people watching

Newquay Festival at the Sports Centre on Sunday 21st August.

Eight teams took part in a league/knock-out competition of limited five over matches. In closely contested semi-finals Falmouth narrowly lost out on a finals place to St Just by just two runs, while Rosudgeon A beat Rosudgeon B . The final was a sportingly contested affair in which Rosudgeon came out winners with a score of 72 over the five overs without any loss of wicket. Liz Bradder, one of the festival organisers was keen to thank colleagues Rob Harrison from Newquay and Gill Acton from Falmouth for their help in organising various aspects of the day including umpiring and scoring.
