Apologies for a quiet period on this site recently. The compilation of the Cornwall Cricket Yearbook has taken precedence. As of today (17th March) the first 224 pages have been compiled, proof read and transferred in the necessary format to cd-rom. They have been delivered to the printer to commence the printing process, leaving the final 80 pages to complete within the next week. Any last minute changes to the Club Directory pages can still be taken - e-mail to mweeks@cornwallcricket.freeserve.co.uk It is hoped publication will be by mid April. Further details on how to order copies will follow here in due course. As a taster this year's bumper edition will include more photographes than ever with around one hundred being included and a special League Centenary Section.
Sadly this website reports the sudden death of Harry Pearce (aged 60). Having played for Barripper CC he joined the League Umpires Panel before becoming the steward at Camborne C.C. The last couple of seasons have seen him as a member of the small team compiling the Saturday night Cornwall Cricket League Results for the local media, for which he will be greatly missed. The funeral service is at Penmout Crematorium on Tuesday 22nd March at 11am.
Jolly's Drinks Sunday Complementary Cup South Petherwin's application by e-mail was unfortunately not received. To encourage as much cricket as possible the competition structure has been revised to allow them entry. They have now been placed in the East Group and take over Lanhydrock's fixtures. Lanhydrock were originally geographically placed in the mid-east group but moved to the east to balance numbers. They have now been moved back to play in a seven team Mid-East group. The Complementary Cup now has three division of 7 and one of 6 teams. Sunday Cup Competitions Revised Fixtures 2005
Reluctantly the Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League have accepted the request of Long Rock CC to withdraw their Division 3 West team and to continue with one team only playing in Division 8 West in 2005. Having lost virtually the entire first XI from last season the club feel that the remaining players, having finished bottom of Division 8 last year, are not of the standard required to step up five divisions In the interests of saving the club the LMC have accepted their request but as a result only 11 teams will now play in Division 3 West. As divisions may not be altered after the AGM the vacancy means only one team will be relegated from Division 3 West and below this year.
