Division 2 West Umpires situation Statement from Dave Davis - Umpires Appointments Secretary The League Management Committee has discussed the subject of "Club Umpires" in Division 2 West , I am now in a position to confirm the following: For those teams that have notified me that they have a club umpire available (Paul 2nd XI, St. Just 2nd XI, Perranporth, Ludgvan), only one panel umpire will be appointed to fixtures involving that team, where they are playing against a team where no such notification has been given. Where these named teams are playing each other, no panel umpires will be appointed. If any opposing team so requests, whether home or away, two panel umpires will be appointed. {All of the above is subject to the availability of umpires to officiate in Division 2 West. In line with League Rule 21.1.1.1 , and bearing in mind the irregularity of the appointment of panel umpires, clubs may wish to discuss sharing the expenses of these official umpires where they are appointed}

Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League Press Release The Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League's Management Committee held an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday 24th May to discuss the request of Menheniot Cricket Club to withdraw from the ECB Cornwall Premier League, due to playing strength. The committee, reluctantly, accepted their request with immediate effect. The club will play one team only for the remainder of the season in Division Three East.
The ECB Womens County Championship Challenge Cup Group 4 match Cornwall v Devon next Sunday (29th) has been further switched to Penzance CC 11am. Grampound Road have a Cockspur Cup replay at home to Taunton Deane and Camborne C C is now unavailable.
The Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League's Management Committee have called an emergency meeting this week to discuss the wish of Menheniot CC to withdraw from the Premier League and play one team only in Division 3 East. (see below)
Menheniot withdraw from Premier League Menheniot have withdrawn from the Jolly's Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League, with immediate effect, due to a shortage of suitable players. They have pulled out of the fixture at Grampound Road today. Chairman Mike Conbeer is "distraught" but with the agreement of his committee had no realistic alternative. They only had sixteen players available for two teams today and after a difficult start to the season in which they have at times been unable to put out eleven players, they have finally had to admit defeat. Injuries, retirements and players not fulfilling promises of playing this year had resulted in an understrength team, adding to the pressures of a village club playing Premier League cricket. Subject to League approval the club will be looking to fulfil their Division 3 East fixtures this year and in an effort to rebuild the club they intend to re-enter a second team at the lowest level next season. Menheniot came into the Premier League in 2002 having been champions of Division 1 East in 2001. The division was divided east and west in that year only when the League was restructured to accommodate a ten team Premier League. The club, which joined the Cornwall Cricket League in 1970, has finished 7th, 9th and 7th over the past three seasons.
Frome have conceded their Cockspur Cup Third Round game at Falmouth on Sunday being unable to raise a side. Famouth are now due to travel to Bridgwater or Paignton on 12th June in Round 4..
