League delays announcing 2004 format
The Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League have delayed announcing the finalised divisions and format for next season. The delay is due to an appeal pending by Torpoint CC after they were denied promotion due to disciplinary reasons. It can however be confirmed that Pencarrow Seconds have withdrawn from the League and that St Newlyn East, who withdrew both teams during the season, have be re-admitted to the lowest division.
The format, including the Premier League arrangements for next year, will be posted on this site as soon as club secretaries have been formally informed by the League.
Youth League volunteers required
Cornwall Youth Cricket League. Since the introduction of the Youth Cricket League 2 seasons ago the following Districts of Kerrier, Carrack, Restormal and North Cornwall have been unable to attract enough willing volunteers to run their respective Leagues. Anyone wishing to get involved and help run youth cricket within their Districts please contact :- Nick Lewis 01726 571217. Ideal job for a retired cricketer, to give something back to the game.
East 6 a side entries required
Cricket Entries are being taken for this winter's Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League's Eastern Section Indoor 6 a side at St Austell R.F.C. Sports Hall. Carl Gazzard (Somerset) 109 runs @ 27.25
Anthony Penberthy (Northants) 93 runs @ 46.50
Holloway was released by Somerset during the year and Penberthy released by Northants after a 14 year first class career at the end of the season.
