Callington host Somerset CCC - Match Cancelled due to ground conditions

On Sunday September 26th 2004 Callington were to hold a prestigous game against Somerset County Cricket Club, as part of Keith Parsons Testimonial year.

Mining Division Evening League Final

Mt Hawke & Porthtowan won this year's Mining Division Evening League final held at Camborne on Sunday when they defeated Redruth by 6 wickets. Nick Greenslade was named 'Man of the Match' after making an unbeaten 47 to steer his side to victory. Redruth 116-4 (S Keverne 68no, D Clift 18, T Dunstan 2-12);

Mount Hawke& Porthtowan 117-4 (N Greenslade 47no, T Dunstan 32, D Clift 2-19).

Mount Hawke & Porthtowan won by 6 wkts

 

Whose won what - County Finals

Truro and St Just meet in a last day decider in the Premier League on Sunday. Troon are relegated. Camborne & Helston have won promotion from County 1 with St Minver relegated.

Outside of the County Divisions, despite a poor run at the end of the season of three successive defeats, Wadebridge clinched the Division Two East title on Sunday in their final game with an eight wicket win over Grampound Road Seconds. Elsewhere Werrington Seconds got the eight points they needed on Saturday to take the Division Three honours from Bude, with a game to spare. Ladock have won Division Four losing just one game, Fowey Seconds Division Five and St Stephen are the Division Six champions.

The corresponding western winners are Redruth by one point from St Gluvias, Perranporth, Penzance Seconds, Trelowarren Arms and Perranporth Seconds. Camborne Thirds won Division 7 by a point from Redruth Thirds and St Newlyn East Division Eight.

The County Finals are due to be played on Saturday 18th September (1pm): Div 2 : Redruth v Wadebridge at Camborne CC (Umpires D Davis & D Head), Div 3: Werrington II v Perranporth at Lanhydrock CC (Umpires JD Stevens & N Vivian), Div 4 Penzance II v Ladock at Hayle CC (Umpires R Jeffery &C Polkinghorne), Div 5 Fowey II v Trelowarren Arms at Liskeard CC (Umpires M Hill & M Murray) and Div 6 St Stephen v Perranporth II at Redruth CC (Umpires V Hassall & F Martin)

 

Groundsmanship Course

A Level 1 Cricket Groundsmanship Course for Autumn Renovation and Winter Maintenance is being held at Truro Cricket Club on Sunday 26th September 9am to 4.30pm. The Course fee is £55 but 50% will be subsidised by the Cornwall Cricket Board. Stithians 91 (D Gillman 15, B Skelton 2-6, B Bryant 2-11, L Heard 2-27);

Mt Hawke & Porthtowan 91-9 (B Bryant 32, R Trenoweth 16no, D Gillman 3-12).

Match Tied - Mt Hawke & Porthtowan won by losing fewer wickets and meet Redruth in the final at Camborne CC on Sunday 12th September at 2pm
