News
Congratulations to Steve Parsons, who has just been elevated
to qualified umpire member status of the ACU&S.
League AGM
The Cornwall Cricket League AGM was held on Wednesday,
and ratified the increase of our expenses to £18 per match.
Among other decisions taken was the reduction of the
Premier League to an 18 match season, and the change of the Premier League
match format to a maximum of 110 overs, with the first innings
being restricted to a maximum of 55 overs. In addition, the "last hour"
rule was scrapped. The 17 over per hour rule is still in place, but only
applies to Premier League games.
Umpire Details
Enclosed with this newsletter is a 2003 season availability
form. It is imperative that this form is completed and returned to Reg
Osborne as soon as possible, as the deadline for changes to the League
handbook is drawing near. Included on the form this year is the opportunity
to let me know whether or not you have access to email. It is my intention
to send as much correspondence as possible by email, saving time and postage.
Please also indicate whether there are any changes that you would like
made to your entry in the handbook. I will ensure that these details are
passed on to the editor of the handbook.
CCUA Ties
The committee has chosen the new club tie design from
a number of submissions from different manufacturers. I am hopeful that
a woven example of the selected design will be available for the February
meeting. The committee has decided that these ties will be sold at £6
each – what a bargain! I have placed an initial order for 50 ties, and
orders will be taken at the February meeting. If you cannot attend, but
nevertheless wish to order a tie, please let me know. I will then reserve
a tie in your name. (Cash or cheque with order would be appreciated)
