Cornwall Women & Girls' Festivals 2002 Eight a side Truro Spring Festival
Six -a -side Falmouth Festival on Sunday 28th July Falmouth Cricket Club hosted their 2nd summer, 6 a side ladies festival on Sunday 28th July. With eight teams from the length of the county competing. The semi-finalists were Rosudgeon v St Just and Mount Ambrose v Falmouth. Rosudgeon limited St Just to 22 in their 5 overs and passed the score without loosing a wicket. Mount Ambrose beat Falmouth to bring about a repeat of last years final. Rosudgeon put Mount Ambrose in to bat and held them to 31. Rosudgeon then passed the score to retain the trophy. A Jewell and R Eustice also scored 103 in their 5 overs v Falmouth. Spring 2002 Sunday 12th May - Truro School Truro school was the venue for the Cornwall Women and Girls Cricket Festival. Seven teams entered from the length of the county, Tideford, St Neot, Truro, Falmouth, St Just, Rosudgeon and Mount Ambrose. After some exciting games the semi-finals were contested between Mount Ambrose and Falmouth - Mount Ambrose making 79 off their 10 overs, Tanya Dennis making 23 not out. Falmouth suffered from the 3 runs for a wide ruling. Falmouth could only manage 38 in reply, with E Tresidder's bowling figures 5 for 2 off 3. The other semi-final saw Rosudgeon taking on St Just. Rosudgeon batted first making 87 for 3. Top score R Eustace 48 not out. St Just in reply were all out for 22. Gemma Richards of Rosudgeon bowled a hat trick in her one over for 2 runs. In the final Rosudgeon batted first making 55 for 6. Emma Tresidder taking 2 for 14 off 3 overs. Rosudgeon struggled in the early overs with Tanya Dennis making 30 before being out lbw to Gemma Richards. Richards figures 3 for 7 off 2 overs.
