Truro 204-2 St Neot. 102

Truro batted first setting a high total of 204 for 2. Captain Angela Lewis making 100. L Fletcher 36. Bowling figures 2 for 21 Eddy and 1 for 31 E Evans. In reply St Neot were all out for 102. G Sleep top scored with 26. Truro's bowlers Morwenna McNally 4 for 12. S Lawton 1 for 26. M Munday 2 for 18 and A Lewis 1 for 9.

Rosudgeon put Mount Ambrose in to bat and attacked from the first over. After 3 overs Mount Ambrose had lost 4 wickets for 5 runs. Rosudgeon bowled Mount Ambrose out for 53. Z Frost 17 not out and V Hocking 13. Rosudgeon's bowlers R Eustace 5 overs, 8 runs, 4 wickets. A Jewell 4 overs, 18 runs, 4 wickets. G Richards 3 overs, 9 runs and 2 wickets. In reply Rosudgeon passed the score, finishing on 57 for 3. A Jewell 23 not out. E Pascoe 11 not out. Sally Rogers 5 overs, 20 runs, 2 wickets.

St Just v Falmouth. Falmouth batted first making 122 for 8 off their 30 overs. S Leathley 62 not out. In reply St Just were all out for 103. Falmouth won by 19 runs.

Falmouth v Truro - postponed

The Cornwall Women's Cricket League off to a good start. With the two scheduled 30 over fixtures both taking place. St Just faced a trip to St Neot, for an earlier than normal start at 11.00 am. After winning the toss St Just put St Neot in to bat and after some superb bowling from the St Just attack, St Neot were all out for 74. E Mays top scored with 15. The pick of the bowlers were Helen Lugg, taking 5 for 11 and Kelda Snell 2 for 13. Lugg then partnered up with Katie Whitaker to open the batting for the visitors. After 11 overs the St Just pair past the score. K Whitaker 31 and H Lugg 15 both not out.

The other fixture involved Rosudgeon playing host to Newquay. Rosudgeon Captain Rachael Eustace, elected to bat. Opener Viv Searle made 65 not out and Eustace then come in to play a Captain's innings of 83 not out. Rosudgeon cruised to 210 for 2 in their 30 overs. Newquay then faced a formidable task. After some excellent bowling from Rosudgeon, Newquay were all out for 59. Fern Nicholls 2 for 6. Marcia Ford 2 for 9 and Gemma Richards 4 for 11. Rosudgeon would like to express their thanks to John Coad and Son for match sponsorship.

Next Sunday, the 12th May, sees the women's teams from all over the county, in action at Truro School for the Spring Festival
